Traffic Signals UK and Microsense Systems are a major provider of traffic signal services and a world leader in traffic solutions. The Company operates within the European Union, across which there are many different cultures, environments, legal frameworks and standards.
In this context, Traffic Signals UK and Microsense Systems [herein after referred to as the company] seeks to apply common standards by setting policies at Group level. The Company will also set environmental objectives as part of the annual review process. These are intended to provide the basis for local policies and arrangements which deal with the differing circumstances in local territories.
Company policy is to aim for best practice environmental management solutions and to ensure compliance with applicable legal and other environmental requirements. The policy objective is to minimize harm to the environment and to prevent pollution being caused by any business activities.
The company will adopt environmental management systems that follow the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001, using a risk assessment approach to manage environmental matters, and ensuring that key environmental hazards arising from business activities are identified, assessed and managed in proportion to the risks that they present.
The Management Team of each service centre/office has responsibility for implementing this policy, operating the Environmental Management System, engendering a culture of environmental responsibility and enrolling the support and commitment of employees, suppliers and business partners.
